Mini Marathon Vodafone

The Mini Marathon is a race integrated in the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon race, sharing with it the starting line at the Bridge 25 de Abril.

With 7,2 km distance, this race gathers athletes and running beginners in a relaxed environment, offering them the chance of crossing by foot on the most important bridges in Portugal.

The Mini Marathon Vodafone is proud of its popularity and has been the preferred races to some of Portuguese political and social personalities such as prime ministers, city mayors, local and international celebrities.

Race Course

The course for the Mini Marathon Vodafone starts at the bridge toll at the Bridge 25 de Abril, it passing by Alcântara until Rua de Cascais (near the supermarket Pingo Doce). Going towards the de Lisboa Congress Center, through the Av. ª da Índia. The finishing line is at Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, near Belém.

Participation Kitbags

The delivery of the participation kitbags (bib number and official t-shirts) will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, on the 14th, 15th and 16th of March from 10:00 AM to 20:00 PM at the CCB – Centro Cultural de Belém (Praça do Império / Rua Bartolomeu Dias, 1449-003 Lisboa.

The athletes must present their registration document (sent by email) and a personal ID document to collect their kitbags.

The athletes can nominate someone to collect their BIB. The nominee needs to present the registration document and a copy of a personal ID document from the registered runner.

The “Participation Kitbag” will include:

One technical t-shirt

One dorsal with chip

One bag

How to get to the starting line

The access to the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon and Mini Marathon Vodafone starting line is limited to the Fertagus Pragal train station. To get to the starting line all participants must use the Fertagus train to arrive to the Pragal station.

To get the Fertagus train stations, the athletes can use for free (by presenting their BIB) the Lisbon public transportation system (subway, buses and trains).

Regulations

1. Integrated in the “EDP Lisbon Half Marathon” program, this 7,200-meter competition starts at the toll of the bridge 25 de Abril. The race in its initial course is similar to the Half Marathon, until approximately 5Km, and then the participants turn right, towards Av. da India, and continue straight ahead to the Finishing Line, which will be in front of the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos;

2. Registrations have to the made online at our official site or at the branches of the event’s official bank.

3. All athletes can participate as long as they are properly registered.

4. There will be no individual or collective classification and the prizes for the first three athlete, Men and Women, will only be symbolic and the same for both genders.

5. Supplies are going to be given to the participants at the 5 km mark and again at the Finishing Line.

6. Athletes are entitled to a personal accident insurance, as provided for in the article 9 of the Decree-Law no. 146/93, on April the 26th, with a capital for death or permanent disability of 28 000,00 EUR and treatment costs up to 4000,00 EUR. Although the organization, has a service of medical assistance throughout the race and in the area of ​​the goal where a medical tent will be installed. Participants must meet the necessary health conditions for the effort inherent to the test. Upon registration the athlete is confirming that he is physically and psychologically fit to participate on the race.

7. The race will start at exactly at 10:30 and will be transmitted live by RTP;

8. The Mini Marathon is under the same rules as the Half Marathon, as it is a race integrated into the main event. The few exceptions not covered by this regulation will be resolved by the race Technical Director and in accordance with the official regulations of I.A.A.F./A.I.M.S.
