EDP Mini Marathon

The EDP Mini Marathon is one of the most popular races in Portugal, its departure is at the famous Vasco da Gama bridge and the finish line is at the Parque das Nações.

The departure is at the same time and location as the Vodafane Half Marathon and allows its participants to have a beautiful view along the course.

EDP Mini Marathon is a popular race, with a short distance and lots of animations and funny runners participating.

You may walk or run in this amazing course.

Participation Kitbags

The delivery of the kitbags (bib number and official t-shirt) will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, on the 8th and 9th of October from 10:00 AM to 20:00 PM at the Sport Expo: Sala Tejo, Altice Arena, Rossio dos Olivais, Expo – Parque das Nações, Lisboa.

The athletes must present their registration document (sent by email) and a personal ID document to collect their kitbags.

The athletes can nominate someone to collect their BIB. The nominee needs to present the registration document and a copy of a personal ID document from the registered runner.

The “Participation Kitbag” will include:

One technical t-shirt

One dorsal

One bag

How to get to the starting line

The starting line is located over the Vasco da Gama bridge. To access to the starting line, runners must use the buses provided by the organization to arrive at the bridge.

The buses depart from the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre and are available from 7:30 to 9:00 am.

To get to the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre, runners can use for free (presenting their BIBs) the Lisbon public transportation system (subway, buses and trains). The race starts at 10h30.

EDP Mini Marathon Regulations

1. Integrated in the Half Marathon event, this race has the distance of 8,5 KM.

2. The route in the initial phase will be identical to the “Half Marathon”, up to the 3rd KM;

3. Registrations is done online at our official website. The registrations for this event will be limited to 17.000 athletes;

4. Runners will be participating on different ranks accordingly with their ages;

5. There will be no individual or collective classification and prizes will be symbolic only, and strictly equal for all;

6. There will be a supply service at km 3 and a next one at the finish line. Participants will be disqualified if they fail to comply with the entirety of the route;

7. The Organization has a medical assistance service, under the guidance of a team of experts, but are not responsible for any accident that may occur during this test;

7a. FEMEDICA is the health partner responsible for the Official Medical Service.

8. Participants must follow the instructions of the Technical Director of the race and of the elements of the organization;

9. All participants are insured, as stipulated by law in accordance with articles 15 and 18 of the Decree-Law No. 10/2009;

10. The event will begin at 10:30 am and will be broadcasted live by RTP;

11. Any exceptional occurrence of this regulation will be solved by the Technical Director according to the official regulations of the IAAF/AIMS.

12. By registering in the race, all participants are accepting these regulations.
